Time of the year again

to say goodbye and welcome the new year 2011.

2010 has been fulfilling in terms of overseas travel and play; was away for almost 2 months to Seoul, Hainan, Laos, Perth, Bali, Krabi, Taiwan and some random trips to JB. Effectively, I was only around for the entire month in Jun, Aug and the whole of Q4. Life has been great!

Undeniably, all the travelling took a toll on my work. Though all worked out pretty good in Q4, it could have been better! Still, I'm good to end the year with the figures in force. I pray for strength and determination in Jan & feb to work my arse off so that I don't have to pay for my own ticket to Miami!

Yay, will be traveling again! First up, Macau in Jan for our organization's d&d. Then, HK with the folks during CNY and the bf and myself will be going to Japan in April! And we just have to get our diving licenses next year, we've been talking about it since uni!

No matter, im gonna embrace 2011 with open arms! Please please please let me start the year strong, I promise I will work very hard! Have a blessed new year everyone!

Loves,
Me

Baking!

Haven't been at it for a while and it's much easier than making the unbaked cheesecake!

The dough looks pretty, I was pleasantly surprised too!

The end products! Can't compare to famous amos but it's a cookie nevertheless! It will be better the next time I bake them.

Do you know how fattening it is to eat a cookie? It's VERY!

Get me out of here.

Was scrolling through some of the blogs I frequent and damn, everyone's outta town for hols. I wanna board the plane too!

But December is the time of the month where I should be working my arse off and all, hence, I can only dream of getting out of here. Maybe I should just work my arse off the entire year 2011 so that I can go holidaying like everyone else in dec.

Look, a flying car!

Diagon alley with hedwig!

Christmas shopping is insane! Was out at takashimaya with the roomie yesterday and we realize the art of buying meaningful gifts is damn difficult! And taka was super packed with snaking queues at the cashiers, gift wrap counters, customer service. The only place we do not have to queue was at the carpark redemption. Both of us were pretty much drained in the end & the scary thing is, there are still unfinished business on the checklist!

Screams!!!

A half-marathon

Did mine yesterday with honey butty. It's much easier than what we expected it to be, weets! We reckoned the final few weeks of 'training' did us good, ha. And both of our timings went below 3 hrs; I did a 2:57 while drey was ahead of me by 10 min. I say we did great!

I'm intending to do another 21 next year, just to better the timing and I'm calling it quits (I think).

Our rewarding lunch after the run, love their muffins & corn niblets!

A must-buy whenever I drop by queensway shopping centre - the tans tutu kueh!

Finally, do catch this local production while it's still on (but you won't be getting kumar since he's only on for the first 3 days of the show). It's Crazy Christmas for you!

Just a quick update.

Caught the cuter version of gingy at cold storage the other day, he's in season now! With all the xmas deco, songs and log cakes on the shelves, it doesn't take much brains to realize that Xmas is here again!

The top on my wishlist gotta be to finish off my figures before Xmas so that I can enjoy my last week of 2010!

Just did a 3-days roadshow at a IT fair last weekends and I swear I'm never ever going back to it again. Not that it's bad or anything else but I think I've gone way past that stage of my career.

That's my bf with bob the builder from west coast plaza.

There's this store at the top level that sells yummilicious fish head curry! Can't remember the shop name but it's the only thriving business in the entire mall apart from cold storage.

Frolick, anyone? Love their fro-yo! Quoting from her world nov issue, 'it's delectably creamy like ice-cream but with a fraction of its calories.' think twice before you eat the next mouth of ice-cream!

Have been snacking excessively these days, gonna put a stop to it soon. I have to starve now so that I can eat more during Xmas!

New favorite!

New toy.

Just got home from Harry Potter 7 & I'm simply overwhelmed! The movie is great if you've read the book. If not, I bet you might be kinda lost here & there and it will just be another movie.

I need my book back, I need to 'revise' the details! I really appreciate the entire J.K Rowling collection; her thoughts are just awesome and the flow from book 1 to 7 seems like she already knew it all before she started penning them book by book.

Here's my new toy.

Stupefy! Haha

Have you seen it?

i was drooling when i saw this group of photos, who won't?

marc jacobs is definitely sizzling hot. i cant think of another name that still looks as hot as he is at 47. i bet he's hotter than his runway models.

the keyword is upkeeping, really. perhaps i should up my own dosage of birds nest to 2 teaspoons per serving instead? im not a fan of the creams and masks until recently, i kinda forced myself to stick to some form of regime. reason being, lots of friends and all are getting married these days and there are bound to be conversations such as 'aiyoh, the who who who looks so old/fat/da glam now' or 'wah, she still looks so good or the same as last time'. i DO NOT want to fall in the former category. of course, looking better than before is flattering, looking the same is good enough too. come on, im no longer a teenager, that's a hard fact of life.

no matter, this group of photos definitely brighten my boring saturday!

The start to another weekends.

And im going to meet Harry coming weds, weets!

surprisingly, there wasn't any queue at the box office on a friday night. either everyone was busy queueing for dinner or bcos I got the tics at gv grand, hence, no queue.

we love movies at gv grand! the crowd is a lot friendlier and less rowdy and everyone just minds their own business! honestly, it's easier to get tics there too.

so why was I not at dinner? I was waiting for the bf to reach...

dinner was at Kenny Rogers; the corn nibblets were damn yummy la and so was the chicken pot pie!

It was a carbos-overloaded meal but ta-da, the food's gone!

guess how we ended the night? yea, over cuppa and a game of chinese chess on his new toy.

has mcdees changed their usual round balloons? or was it only at great world city's that they distribute fanciful ones in the shape of flowers? new marketing strategies huh.

woke up to something interesting though; saw on my friend's fb to google the driving route from taiwan to china on its map and step 24 is:

grasp, how bout the car?

tireds...

not exactly a long day today, but it was lfa agency retreat since 12pm this afternoon and we did an amazing race! truth be said, it's really quite fun & enjoyable yah. of course, yours truly & team came in 1st!!! nevertheless, tireds la.

realised the previous entry sounded more angry than intended, opps. i was damn unhappy but wasnt really angry, just needed to let go the frustrations k.

anyways, run for hope 2010 is here again! it's an annual and meaningful event organized by the 'national cancer centre' to raise funds and all for cancer research. as usual, the charity committee will settle the coordination & the administrative matters for the run and the tedious part is always the race pack collection. we went to collect the 229 packs just last saturday.

the packs filled up wishy completely and yet, wishy wasnt enough for all 229 of them. phoebe's bug had to share part of the load too.

took this while waiting for the traffic light to turn green, grins.

wishy was quite thin on air that day, cant breathe too much.
it was quite an experience! though i cant exactly remember what happened last year. >.<

my client's friend gave this cute little cherries lollipop to me, really appreciate it!

one of my favourite hangout places, one can never be sick of them!
gonna rest early today, nights world!

Ramblings...

i'm usually a really FRIENDLY person, but i'm not a chauffeur. i'm good to drive friends and colleagues around, but i'm not a chauffeur. i dont mind flaunting my superb driving & navigation abilities and be a driver, but still, i'm not a chauffeur.

i'm cool with driving, i really am; and i'm also cool with the erps and carpark charges as well as long as it's ON THE WAY. however, the phrase 'you drive la cos your car is big!' is getting on my nerves; the same goes for people who says 'but my car is so small, you drive la your car is bigger' and lastly, please dont tell me i should be the driver cos my wishy can fetch a lot of people because no matter how many people my wishy can sit is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! of course, unless you're helping me with the instalments or sponsoring my petrol, carpark coupons and cashcard, whether i drive a small car or big car is my house's business. i is fucking not happy!

if your name happens to be keet, drey, lala, or other members of the gin gang, or any of the uobs babes, or any of the usual lunch kakis, or my golf kakis, im not referring to any of you.

i think i could have felt better if i was asked nicely and being appreciated even though a ride is no big deal. weird that i have been feeling taken for granted recently, or rather, i felt that my wishy has been taken for granted. on a positive note, it's good motivation to work harder so that i can afford a selfish car, bleah! argh, finally got this off me! i really needed to let off some steam. im not a chauffeur, period.

onto happier matters, we finally got our PC today!

steph & i at marina bay golf!

dinner time & the beautiful backdrop!
after getting down to the greens and played a 5-holes today, i love golfing even more! i'm definitely lookin forward to spending more time on golfing and playing on the greens overseas, haha!

wanted to upload more photos but somewhat, the program on blogspot simply cant do it tonight. oh well, another day then! nights people!

It's almost christmas!

look around you, the xmas deco should be up by now. this year passes by extremely fast, isn't it? i realized i have been repeating the same things over and over every year; reckon it's definitely a sign of old age. bleah!

went for a jog with keet & drey around the clarke quay area yesterday night and my scm 21km is so going to be disasterous! now that it's only a month away from the real thing, i can only tighten the training and pray for the best, sulks. amazing how i used to hate this sports a lot and absolutely dreaded it when the bf says 'let's go run!'; picked up running again in 2007 as my colleagues & i were kinda 'forced' to participate in the weekly healthy lifestyle initiatives. i did my first mass run of 4km for 'Run for Hope' in 2008, followed by the stanchart 10km a month later. it's kinda addictive and we started registering for more runs the following year and we are still continuing to do so. strange, apparently running seems to have become a really popular sport in sunny singapore. the upcoming stanchart run actually closed their registration within or even less than a month from the launch, that was real fast!

am i boring you? haha.

i've been reading this blog for quite a while and i must confess i enjoy reading his entries a lot! he has a bunch of really happening friends and they do all the happening things that we have been talking about and yea, still talking about. most of his entries made me laugh, some led me to reflect and think about my everyday life and some simply wow-ed me.

an interesting conversation i had with a friend today:

F: if i use my krisflyer points to bring you to somewhere to stay (in the same room), will you do it?
Me: er, depends on your intention & if im interested or not?

F: so what does it mean if you agree to the trip? but what will you tell your folks?
Me: if it's you & me, there's definitely no intention and no interest la. friends leh, it's free anyway!

so i went on to throw him a few examples of intention vs interest and i think he got the answers that he's looking for. haha, funny how our brain throws us with random thoughts each day; his popped up while settling his krisflyer stuff. anyways on second thoughts, if you do have an indecent proposal in mind, i suggest you omit the krisflyer points part, hee.

alrighty, gonna sleep peeps. nights & enjoy the long weekends!

New stuff!

yea, somewhat my space here is turning into a foodie blog. the sad thing is, eating is the most happening thing in my everyday life; nothing else, sulks. no matter, ajisen has a new soup base!

it's called something something black ramen. we've no idea what the ingredients are but it's pretty delicious for the first few mouths and then, it got boring. haha.

checkout the gu-niang lollipop pen my bf is holding. ha, this is just to disturb him.

when was your last time having mcdees for breakfast? I just had mine this morning! :)

Eskimo

ran out of mini pearls when I went on thurs, sulks. still, i got a pudding milk tea instead! honestly, I thought 贡茶 is better as the tea has more 香味!

guess what? my new fav is 贡茶! i heart koi too but I can't take the queueing so it's definitely out.

Cravings

for bubble tea since last week. in fact, i missed the mini pearls at eskimo! the bf brought me to a new bubble tea shop just opposite our ofc today.

the verdict: yea, they're quite good, the 茶 is damn fragrant la! apparently, they are famous for their 贡茶, whatever it is. regardless, my way of deciding if I will buy again is to first taste their 珍珠milk tea! a pity they don't do mini pearls, I heart!

hearsay from the secretaries that the pearls are hard & no chewy the last time they bought. BUT the pearls were satisfactory today! reckon this new place is lacking in consistency?

they do offer a pretty extensive range of beverages and extras ie. white pearls, pudding, herbal jelly & more! to find this up & coming stall, pls visit 贡茶 at PS level 1! it's located right at the open area outside StarHub.

Tuesday with myself.

got a day off from work unintentionally; this day off is definitely unwelcome at this time of the year. But that's life I guess?

the xmas deco are starting to reappear on planet earth. give them another week, the xmas ambience will be EVERYwhere! I'm scared & stressed la!

caught this tree in vivo a few hours ago, scary how time flies isn't it?

my bf is a brown monster!

herewith his iPhone with a new, brown casing & his almost-a-week old Bally wallet!

It's 215am now, gonna sleep soon. definitely an improvement in timing from yest's!

Nights peeps!

The reason why I'm still up

is because I'm just done with masking!

i have been more conscious about skin care lately, for the plain truth that I'm growing older every seconds. other than keeping up with my bird nest routine and water parade and smearing of cream and different types of lotion on my face, I'm seriously lacking in something as important: beauty sleep!

not that I'm complaining I've insufficient sleep, I just think I sleep way too late! See, it's already 0239am! Ciao & nights folks!

Happy Birthday mummy!

Was supposed to do this entry yesterday but i was just to full & slack after the damn hearty dinner at Crystal Jade.

We went to the holland v outlet for their steamboat & freeflow of 小笼包s. The 小笼包s were damn good! The char siew 包s were yummy too!

And so were the prawns! But prawns were limited, only 2 per pax.

Hee, that's all the photos I took. I need to eat too!

Honestly, the steamboat is too meaty for me. We had veggies, but the quantity & taste of the veggies pale in comparison with the meat. There were a lot of pork and pork and more pork!!! The pig bone soup base is actually quite good, but after all the meat, it's really porky too!

So, until the day i can forget how meaty and hearty the entire meal is, I won't be back anytime soon.

The best steamboat buffet gotta be at M Hotel! The herbal prawns & durian purée totally rock my appetite!

I'm so gonna take more photos the next time I'm there! And the best thing is, I'm going there in 2 weeks time!

Happy birthday mummy! May you stay healthy, pretty & sizzling hot! I love ya!

Ayam penyet!

the usual lunch party ventured further down orchard road on mon afternoon to get some famous ayam penyet!

I think lucky plaza is a damn amazing place; but I'm kinda scared if I'm to roam alone.

happy soda, I like!!!

not sure if this chain has 2 outlets in the same building; apparently, there's another ayam penyet stall with the same banner on level 6.

realized some of my friends are eating collagen these days, even uber hot keet! I've a bottle of those at home though, just lazy to make the drink. I'm into something more convenient, 浓缩 bird nest!

since I'm lazy to do masks and creams, I need to find an alternative to stay young too. I'm not sure if it's really expensive, let's see how long my $135 can last me. I've a feeling the price is justifiable, will update again!
