cammy & i.

my new toy is here, just in time. unfortunately, japan holidaying plans have been aborted. nevertheless, it's exciting to have cammy under my list of possessions! now that cammy's here to stay, i've to get her a nice-looking bag, a bigger brain (sd card) and also a dry-box (according to the bf), whatever it is. haha.

im a big noob when technology is concerned. even though i got cammy a week back, all i know and am confident of doing is to charge her battery, haha. the bf dropped by the other day to run some test shots with cammy. obviously, the bf is a better photographer than i am. hee.

with cammy around, monkey (my good old point & shoot canon ixus 70) will retire from most travelling and will only be invovled with my work stuff and most prob, diving activities. it's time to get monkey a new monkey bag though.

speaking of diving, tioman plans have been postponed too due to overwhelming bookings. boring!

We live to eat!

chanced upon this famous wonton mee in one of my usual reads and i decided that the bf needs to cast his votes too! we say the wontons are pretty normal, nothing to shout about. BUT the mee, the chilli and most importantly, the roasted char siew are damn nice!!!

the TOP wonton mee stall in Lifestyle:
Foong Kee Wonton Mee
6 Keong Saik Road

the bf had the roasted duck and chicken rice; the rice is tasty as the owner used a different kind of sauce/gravy for the rice and the roasted duck is mouth-watering delicious!

it's indeed value for money and the satisfaction level is as good as 3.5/5 blingbling-corns! haha.

another of our favourite haunts will be Alexandra Village food centre! The renovation took forever and it is finally reopened for business recently. We were there with Smith & Jomei yesterday and we went back for more today.

my bf totally hearts the below stall.

this was what he missed yesterday! luckily we came back for dinner again, it's damn good. anyway, it's located at the last row ( furthest from queensway, alongside with the avocado drinks seller) and oh, it comes in the form of a claypot thingy; the uncle sells yummy bah kut teh too!

I had fish soup. my first time trying and it's quite good! the boss is pretty generous with the serving and the fish meat is thick and fresh. It's located along the same row as the previous stall, think the signboard writes sengkang fish soup or something.

Our all-time favorite, ssccccreams!!! the peanut gravy is damn good, notice the yellowish stuff inside the gravy, it's pineapple! that's what making the sauce tasting better than others.

what can we say? It's still as good! it's located in the middle, unit number 01-52. :)

One thing for sure, the satisfaction level is definitely higher than wonton mee, we say 4.5/5 blingbling-corns!

Hong Kong 030211-080211 Part I

was in hong kong with my folks & lil brothers for this CNY holidays. all our worries about food, closed shops and boring streets immediately diminished upon arrival in our hotel.

hong kong is damn CROWDED and almost everywhere is OPENED for business!

the shops that i were interested and closed:
1. 海天堂 (for the 1st day of CNY)
2. Yung Kee (for the first 3 days of CNY)

to my dismay, everywhere is filled with tourists and most importantly, 90% of them comes from the mainland. and due to our cultural differences, i DO have an issue with them especially when it comes to places with long queues or big crowds. every muscle and cells inside me are dying to shout
不要再推我,不要再挤!

i wanted to do a super long post but my stamina sucks, really. so here comes the pictures of day 1 & 2!

the folks in changi international airport!

while daddy & I went to get the check-in done, mummy dearest was busy taking photos with her 2 sons.

lunch was taken at the hotel's cafe, buffet style. no photos of food as everyone was super hungry!

first stop; from jordan to mongkok!

yes, how can we miss this?

my favourite all-time snacks!

there was a ching-gay alike celebration on the 1st day of CNY along the streets of tst, of course we went to see see look look. the traffic policemen were already all over the streets as we walked down canton road.

my favourite character of the night!

dinner was taken pretty late; it was in my daddy's all-time favourite chinese fast food chain. :)

Day 2 - Lantau Island

it was still pretty empty when we reached at around 9am.

yes, time for food!

this is the queue at the bottom of the cable-car ticketing station while we got back down. it was atrocious! in fact, we also plannd to go tai-o on the same day. but due to the crowd, we decided to return to tung chung again the next.

one of the must-dos in hong kong during CNY is their fireworks display on the 2nd day of lunar new year. on this night, the display will start at 8pm along victoria harbour. we reached at around 630 to grab a place in front of the starbucks. no photos but the fireworks display was awesome!!!

dinner was zi char in temple street; perhaps it was CNY, the quality of food was compromised and definitely because of CNY, we were charged extra 10%.
folks, that's all for tonight! i am already super tireds!
