sunday vs work.

haven't been working for a couple of Sundays, guess I was losing it. but somewhat, a little burst of fire came running back to me after I did a sharing with one of the AG groups this morning.

I hope the little burst of fire lasts or snowballs to a bigger fire. Haha.

anyways, i've spent almost the entire sunday packing my room. went out with the roomie for dinner in the evening only to realize that farmart was nearby. so there we went, checking out what's at the cck farmart.

pretty disappointing place, still prefer the pasir ris one. fun pic with the cow, lots of them lying around. ha!

Mooos!

checkout of farmart within 15min & adjourn to jp for desserts at one of my favorite desserts place. I'm one hell of a food junkie and my latest craze gotta be durian snowy ice!

us doing funny faces, poofs.

have you tried the latest range of desserts from ikea? presenting to you their danish apple cake! relatively yummy but since my heart was all set on the original cheesecake, the apple cake didn't really impress me much.

oh well...

saturday night = home.

strained either the nerve or the 'muscles' on my calf, damn painful la. thank god they are feeling much better today! still, i've to forsake my saturday run & the yummy coffeebean affair. sat morning started off with a swim with the roomie & honey butt instead, needed a less impactful sport on both my limbs.

i cursed & swore the whole of yesterday; it was so bad that i had to mouth some form of cb for each fucking step i took. walking down the stairs of S.I.M. was extremely hopeless as i was a mix of severe pain, agitation & frustration. poofs.

my brother graduated yesterday!

Family pic less my lil' bro, he gotta work & couldnt attend the ceremony. too bad!
See that file in his hands, the piece of paper inside costs $30k.

anyways, i tried to dress younger in the hope of 'blending in'. i thought my bro's friends were pretty kind to agree that i can, even though keet says my face looked totally old. i dont wanna be a lao char bo leh! but i have to somehow admit that i am old, after looking through my own graduation photos. big sigh!

i wanna cry just looking at the differences.

saturday afternoon was spent with honey butt; we first did lunch at ikea and then cuppa at buttercake n cream. it was great spending time together! the roomie has gotten itchy-scratchy rashes and preferred staying indoors today. pictures time!

i saw an uber cool pic in ikea and i think it's totally gorgeous!!! it costs 99 bucks though.

101% cool right?!?
and did i mention we went to buttercake n cream after that? it's really a great hangout place to spend a lazy afternoon!

it's definitely a pig-out saturday cos not long after cuppa, i went out with my folks & bros for dinner at my daddy's favourite zi char place beside keat hong.

personally, i heart the crispy butter sotong a lot!!! it's a must-order everytime we are there for food!

maybe i should just convert my blog to a foodie blog, bcos selegie tau-hwui is coming up next! it's definitely not the roomie's nor my first time at this super crowded supper place, however, it's confirmed-guaranteed our first time at selegie tauuuu-hwuuuui together.

honestly, i always wonder why the big hoohas bout the tau-hwui at selegie. to me, it tastes like any others i get elsewhere. i thought i cant appreciate but since it's famous, it should be nice lo. i found the reason last night; that's because i always ordered the cold one. i SHOULD HAVE ordered the HOT ones la!!! and the fried dough-sticks gotta be very good because my roomie who isnt a carbs-lover was totally impressed last night!

on a side note, mr bean's cafe at selegie is officially out of our list of good & reasonable food places. the prices there went through a steep inflation; unfortunately, the quality of their dishes went the opposite direction. no wonder it wasnt as crowded as before, too bad for 'em.

rough patch.

i think im going through one right now. i get irritated at the slightest thing, seems like nothing's going right for me.

somebody please save me.

yummy treats.

The subway baked bars!!! Yea it's damn nice. Though it kinda felt like a rock and I even tried slapping it against the table, it's soft inside and the chocolate melts in the mouth. Nice! i shall try the berries one the next time.

onto yummy treats, i totally heart this cheesy almond japanese cracker!

have you tried the wraps @ pacific coffee? the turkey one is damn good.

and our all-time favourite mcdees, their apple crumble! cinnamon melts has been kinda overwhelming these days. but ah-goh got a really good picture of the melts that im craving for them again!

am still lazing around because it's my bro's graduation ceremony later!
it's like F.I.N.A.L.L.Y he has graduated!

till the next post!

getting inked.

i've been toying with the idea of getting inked for quite a while and still cant decide if this is what i really want to do for myself.

i brought up the topic to mummy last night and needless to say, she was against the idea simply because the process is irreversible and she also couldnt understand what's with the idea of inflicting pain to get soemthing you might regret 20 years down the road. i absolutely get where she is coming from. still, i thought it is one of the i-should-at least-try-it-once thingys. that's the same reason why i started doing brazillian as well; just to experience the so-called pain. in fact, i found the pain kinda addictive, haha. side-tracking, i also thought all mummies-to-be should at least do a natural birth once in their lifetime, just to experience the entire process and pain. sometimes, i think i have a love-hate relationship with pain. shrugs.

back to the topic of getting inked, even if i've decided to go ahead with the idea, i might just tattoo a small star or somehting, haa. even so, which part of the body shall it be?

me-time.

i love my 'me-time'; just feel that it's good to have some personal space once a while.

5 years ago, i would have never imagined myself to eat or go out alone. i would have rather not eat than to eat alone. 5 years later, i treasure the time spent with myself, a good cuppa and a good read. i wonder if it's the nature of my career or simply aging that leads to the change. somewhat, i enjoy my 'me-time'!

i used to not understand the meaning of personal space when i was in my early 20s and definitely, the roomie & i used to argue a fair bit over this issue back in school. somewhat, i learnt to let go but never quite understand the existence & need for it until a couple of years ago. even though im not a super-glue-girlfriend, i position myself under the blu-tack category, haha ie. adhesive nonetheless but more versatile and all. in my opinion, giving each other their much needed personal time speaks a healthy relationship. of course, it is absurd if the partner always take 'i need some personal time' as an excuse to scoot off hanging out with friends or similar instances and neglecting the other half. moderation k!

i just hope all my girlies and my besties' gfs do give themselves and their partners enough personal space so everyone can breathe and spend some time with themselves! it's kinda thereupatic and the feeling is awesome!

anyways, im STILL in my 20s!!!

i had my fill of 'me-time' during lunch today @ PS subway; with a mag in hand and a good seat to people-watch, i finally tasted the chilli crab sub BUT i say give me a cold cut trio anytime! somewhat, i cant understand why keet says it's really yummy. perhaps, honey mustard & chilli crab dont go together? haha. still, i heart their white chip cookies. and hearsay the new baked bars are extremely good too, im so gonna try it soon!

met mr unfriendly keet and contortionist gracie later in the day and it was thai food for dinner; a pity honey butt has no off-pass tonight, she missed a pretty good meal @ nana's.

the review here might be a lil' bias as we were really hungry, but we thought the food was pretty good and reasonably priced! the wantons were crispy but a bit too salty though.

nana thai restuarant is located at far east plaza, level 4. nothing fantastic but good enough to nurse an empty stomach and hunger pangs! :)

Buttercake n cream.

Weekend was done spending time over cuppa & desserts. And here's a new place that you guys can hangout at, Buttercake N Cream! it's located at sunset way and they serve really yummy desserts. we had the apple crumble today and im definitely going back for the chocolate pudding!

the place is a lil' small but the warm & cozy deco more than makes up for it. and here comes our treats; i simply love it! the taste of the crumble still lingers even after 6 long hours...yea, it's that good. yums. i suggest we go to buttercake n cream for desserts anytime but monday (cos they're not opened). weekends will be better cos there's an eye-candy, haha.

a nostalgic bus that is seldom seen on the roads these days.

and the pretty things that i've been packing over the weekends! i heart all these scrap book and pretty papers stuff. each time i see them on display, it drives me crazy just looking at them and not being able to bring any home. the amount of self-restraint that i have to exercise is simply beyond words...still, i cant help but give myself a little treat each time, no matter how small the item is. grins.

anyways, i think blogspot is doing good great to add more features and stuff to retain their memberships! checkout the new editor, it's up with more selections and all. looking much better than before!

anyways, after slacking for the last few days, i made a promise to myself to start working harder to makeup for the lost time till i pack my bags for taiwan. the hardworking me will start work at 9am tmr!

go away you monday blues, i need to pull up my socks! :)

...

hasnt been on my best form this year, hence work kinda sucks as a result. luckily, my worst year was over! this thought did comfort me a bit.

i wish im stressed. alright, im a bit stressed.

have been doing some self-reflections these 2 days while hiding at home almost bulk of the time. in a blink, it's already half-way off august. what exactly have i done this year? i asked myself. guess i cant attribute the blame to my 'too-many' travelling. after all, some of it was a pay-off for my efforts in 2009 and i had fun.

speaking of which, im travelling again in sept; it's a family trip. i cant possibly not go right?

i bet i will be stressed after i come back.

im so looking forward to da ipad! finally, there's some motivation to work harder; i better complete the figures by this month. back to my work, i think i tried to work only 5-days/week this year, i wanna have weekends off too. perhaps, this is not working for me. i tried to reduce my after dinner appts to only 1 instead of the usual 2-3. think it's not working for me too. i think i should work like a slave.

the only reason why im blogging about work today is to flaunt this photo i found on someone's blog. yes, the word is flaunt! somewhat, it gives me some form of solace and relief.

anyways, im a non-smoker. fyi.

Universal Studios Singapore!

the roomie & i were at the USS just monday and surprisingly, it was fun and we strongly encouraged you guys to go!

we didnt go with expectations, perhaps that was why it's more fun. anyways, every admission ticket entitles to a 5 bucks meal coupon and a 5 bucks retail coupon, please utilize them.

even though it was just a 2-man party, even though it was pretty dampening in the morning as the sky started to pour and stopped 1.5 hours later; still, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. the most talk-about ride must be the egyptian roller coaster, it's a must! accordingly to chang, he nearly got a cardiac attack. as for yours truly, the camera caught me with eyes closed while screaming my heads off.

we wanted to take the water thingy at jurassic park too but the queue was atrociously long and estimated waiting time was 2 hours. so well, we gave it a miss. another must go is definitely the 4-d shrek show, really. other than these, it's kinda amazing to see more 'fun' stuff in singapore. the pizzas along 'new york' is a must-eat, the pepperoni one is damn yummy! food isnt expensive in USS, the lays potato chips is damn ex though, $6.50 per pack, that's almost twice the price of supermarts.

we didnt manage to take pictures with any cartoon characters, either the queue is too long or by the time we spotted them, it's time for them to rest AGAIN.

i bought and brought gingy home!!! my gingy!!! closer friends will know how much i adore gingy, he's so cute!

it was a good experience and we definitely urge everyone to go! however, if you arent keen to take any of the rides or are afraid and will definitely not take any, dont waste the money unless you have spare cos i heard the tics arent cheap.

till the next post folks!

7 steps to save your car from an empty fuel tank.

That is ms wong's 7 steps for you.

1. For safety reasons, push the car to one side. If your car is not in a legal parking lot, to play safe, it will be good to indicate that your car is 'spoilt' with a white piece of paper.

2. Go to the nearest petrol station and get a couple of liters of your favorite fuel. Remember to bring along your IC.

3. Buy the old-school looking tin from the station and proceed to find any available uncle to help pump some petrol into the tin.

4. Pose for a picture. After all, it might jolly well be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

5. Remember to take a pair of chopsticks from the petrol station while paying. *note: the esso smile card can be accepted even in this situation.

6. Go back to the car and opened your fuel tank. Place the chopsticks against the opening of the tank and start filling your car with its source of energy.

-

7. Start your engine and see if the fuel level increase. Go to the nearest petrol station and top up the tank.

Ta-da, 7 steps for you! :)
