mooncake day!

otherwise known as 月饼节(my version) or 中秋节(general term). not exactly sure why there's such a chinese tradition, think it's to commemorate 常娥奔月?

the best thing that comes out of this is that we get to eat all sorts of mooncakes! i love yummilicious snowskin ones with lots of yolks, period. in fact, the main criteria is lots of yolk! and i used to love this white colour kind of biscuit too when i was younger, but mummy seldom buys them now cos im the only one who loves it. come to think of it, mooncake festival is one occassion where the extend of celebration diminishes with age yeah. the older we get, the less elaborated it is or not even celebrated at all. what lanterns, candles, 猜灯谜? im more interested to eat the different variety of mooncakes, haha.

bought very few mooncakes this yr. in fact, i've only delivered to 2 clients; partially cos i wasnt around in singapore from last sun till this thurs, thus left with not much time to distribute them. alright, justified. got a special mooncake this year for the family though, 一大粒 with six yolks from HK's 美心. guess what tempted me to buy? the 6 YOLKS of course! have yet to taste it but according to my colleague, it's superb. lookin forward to eat it later. =)

some pictures that we took during the ABC (awareness before change) course.

the whole ABC course is really like a training camp where we're grouped into small groups with identity and all. see our posters!

and this is my group! alright, why sperm? of course there's a story behind it... during one of the lesson, we learnt that everyone is a born winner! for the simple fact that the sperm which carries our chromosome fought very hard among the other sperms to get to the egg in the ovary for fertilization, and thus formed us in our embryo stage...u get the drift? haha.

generally, the course was conducted in chinese and im pretty surprised that im still able to write considerably proper chinese. learnt many lessons throughout the 4 days 3 nights, went thru some monster trainings. all of the trainees slept less than 8 hours for the 3 nights. our program went like this:

6am wake up
630am 3km run
830am lessons
1130pm homework
3am sleep
6am wake up and the routine goes on

the last night was worst cos we had to prepare the skit and all till 430am and we had to wake up to run 3+0.5km that morning. the running distance i covered these 3 days was well equivalent to what i had accomplished the whole of last yr combined (from all the morning jogs). but am pretty amazed by myself that i managed to complete all 3 days of run. even though i detest running, i guess all it takes is to make this a habit, then the rest comes naturally. of course, on the condition that my knee permits all these running.

the ABC course was a really enriching course and i urge all who has the opportunity to attend. at the end of the day, i learnt to be a better me. i learnt my weaker points, i learnt to count my blessings, i learnt to improve everyday, i learnt to make use of my resources, i learnt to be discipline, i learnt how to apply what i have learnt, and most importantly, i realized i have wasted quite a bit of my life away. big boss always like to say, learning is one thing, using the skills we have learnt is another. 现在就去做!

and the trainers are great, fantastic, superb. they really put in a lot of effort and their coordination during the class is almost flawless. they are also very systematic, organized and make learning so much easier for us. they're just different from local trainers where certain matters are always so impromptu and sometimes, screwed up. i guaranteed that no such occurences happened during the course. they even took the effort to brief the morning run and all in details. 101% for effort!
