Another long overdue post...

The roommate's 28th! first up, a surprise mini-party for him at paulaner with his buddies and girlies. =)

got this lovely card for him and i spent quite a great deal of time thinking of how to write in it cos it's almost a A3 size card. haha.

after a night of beer, sausages and cakes, we've decided on some heathly activities on his birthday itself - a walk through the newly launched henderson waves from harbourfront to west coast park! of course, we didnt walk the whole 9km, only managed from his place to mount faber and to telok blangah hill and then back.

stuff that we brought along:
1. Water!
2. Homemade sandwiches on foccacia bread
3. Caps
4. Camera
5. Oreo!!! Alright, she's not a stuff. she's our cute doggy.

start of the journey...

yes, we see mount faber!

at the foot of mount faber. =)

pretty cottage-ish apartments along the trip.

the marang (or mayang??) trail nearly killed me. the upslope is atrocious, especially when oreo is super hyperactive and all. anyway, i suffered from severe muscle ache on my calves for a good 2 days after the walk.

finally at the top. honestly, i was super exhausted by then and i hastily clicked a few shoots for blogging purposes. not sure what i was shooting. so as we walk, as we walk, we see more people; retirees, students and families even though it's a monday. hee.

the henderson waves! the entire structure is suspended around60+ metres above sea level and there's no shelthered area along the entire length. the view from above is fantastic and perhaps, a little scary for some because of the height we are at. nevertheless, the structure looks and feels sturdy, no sweat.

out of the 7 places of interest, we have only covered the marang trail and faber walk. 1 place of recommendation will be the floral park & hortpark, heard from a couple of friends recently that the floral park is damn pretty yeah.

we stopped a while at the starting point for oreo to take a short break and we, for some food. the sandwiches were yummilicious yeah, with a generous filling of ham, omelette, lettuce, tomatoes and bratwrust sausages and we brought along some fried chicken wings, courtesy from the roommate's mum. hee. disclaimer, the food tasted like 300% better than it looked. haha.

and the rain came. so somewhat, we managed to proceed further on to telok blangah hill and started heading home after that via a different route.

and i simply love this bag, a random gift from me to the roommate some weeks ago.

Singapore Botanical Gardens Part II

Due to popular demand, here i am again! not that i didnt want to blog, just that the uploading of photos is kinda slow and sometimes, frustrating. hence, it inevitably affected my progress of each entry. yeah, procrastination and all and blah blah blah. in fact, this post has been sitting inside my draft since 13th may.

yeaps yeaps, without further haalaa & hoohaa, it's pictures time!!!

the botanical garden, as its name, is all view and serenity. once stepped onto the garden, we were greeted by the abundance of greens and blues, er i mean water by blues (even though they looked greenish to me, oh well, haha). nevertheless, amazing sight.

the roommate and i!

our first destination is the swan lake.

flowers!!!

the ginger garden! erhm, no ginger.

the shaw symphony stage.

the walk through the rainforest...is kinda torturous. it was an uphill track and it nearly killed me, but honestly, i experienced worse a few weeks later after the walk through botanical gardens(which is in fact, one week before today). the latter one was at mount faber where the roommate and i went to explore the newly launched henderson waves (to be posted next).

nice view all around.

guess what explained the 2 pictures below?
ans: we were taking pictures of each other. in fact, the roommate was asking me to do some pose and i'd decided that will be taking a pic of him instead. haha, yes i'm that bo liao. =)

me! me! me! haha.

for all of you who havent been to the botanical gardens or havent been there since primary school, it's time to re-visit this natural beauty again! parking is confirm accessible and no worries, plenty of lots.

just enjoy the scenary, enjoy the air and of cos, enjoy the food @ the foodcourt!
