happenings...

went for a concert at victoria concert hall yesterday. actually it was quite good, the singing and all, just that i'm not sure how to appreciate, the chior from 雅歌合唱团...

this is how bored i am during the intervals...a lot of crowds outside, so lazy to go out of the threatre...take photos la, tried to entertain myself admist the pools of aunties and uncles. haha. worse, i was almost sleeping during certain parts of the show. hee.

raining damn heavily in the afternoon, commando to my rescue...haha, look at how he carried his brollies..damn silly la. he explained something about the rain splashing at him sideways and all...duh. anyway, yunn, he thinks u're jude!

flowers for mdm quek. thought it was quite weird to mix lilies and roses but they looked okay. i love lilies..please give me lilies if any of you wanna send me flowers. grin.

went back to bp last wed for mdm quek's retirement ceremony. a pity that it was held in the temporary premise at teck whye as the cck campus is undergoing a major overhaul. nevertheless, it's nice to be back with the bp family. =)

check out the new biometric authentication systems in school. there's no longer attendance marking in sch, students are supposed to scan their thumprints every morning when they reached school. it's so cool la!!! evolution of technology...i'm so outdated. =(

scenery from the lower sec canteen. nothing much. and there's only 2 stalls there, the malay food and drinks. and guess what, the drinks stall uncle was driving an alfa romeo, and is driving a mercs now. er guys, mercs right???

another technology i found at orchard bus-stop. hee, dont know if it's gps or gprs system. this is pretty impressive too. this screen actually relays to commuters the estimated arrival time of the buses and the waiting time for the next next bus. and they will also show if the buses have the faciities for the handicapped yeah. the downside is that the timings arent really accurate. in fact, it's not accurate at all, at least from what i've experienced. hahaha.

the world is so small and everyone is very connected to one another. was talking to steph the other day over tiramisu and we realized that we have more than a few couples of common friends/aquaintances...drew out a map. but will post it after i got home. haha. anyway, drey, yunn and i were talking about the same thing over dinner on friday. we are so connected such that it's pretty tough to have an affair or two-time your partners in singapore 'openly' (meaning that you guys hang out at shopping malls, public places and all). when u think that nobody knows you or is watching you, do think twice. cos the peeps sitting at the tabe right beside you might jolly well be your partner's school mates, army mates or his/her best friend's other friends... and words do go around. no matter how ppl promise to keep things a secret, somehow or somewhat, another person will know.

as the chinese saying goes: 若要人不知, 除非己末为 yah. scary. perhaps that's why ppl always hangout at dark areas, carparks, ulu places, and ulu parks. haha. nonetheless, beware, cos car-plates are sources of identification too. troublesome hor. haha, but somehow peeps just have ways to get off. i know of at least 2 who plays around..haha. and so far, they've been pretty discreet. whahahah. cos no news of divorce yet. still safe and sound.

so we brought our discussion further, such as go overseas for vacations. hangout in batam, bintan? but again, singaporeans are everywhere! even batams la! places like holiday inns and harris are practically flooded by singaporeans all around the year. so how?

we listed a few places in singapore that are safe yet unsafe. and most importantly, you must have a car. if not, playing is out of the question. but come to think of it, 1 of my 2 friends dont drive. hmmm...

1. Jurong Hill
safe factor: super inaccessible and nobody really goes there.
unsafe: actually, a lot of ntu students know of that place and we do hangout there after supper. haha.

2. bedok jetty carpark
safe factor: super dark la. and my bet is everyone is there for the same purpose, be it they're 'legal' or 'illegal' couples. so guess they just mind their own business?
unsafe factor: precisely that everyone is there.

3. bt batok nature reserve/park
safe factor: my friend hangouts at this place and not caught yet!
unsafe factor: might be robbed by foreign workers. haha.

4. west coast park carpark (of cos not the one with mcdees)
safe factor: super dark as well. always saw a couple of cars there when i drive past. haha
unsafe factor: er, cant think of any? maybe the nus kids might just decide to go for an adventure?

5. er...perhaps tuas?
safe factor: nobody's there.
unsafe factor: robbed? caught in some fire?

6. yishun dam
safe factor: not sure, havent been there before
unsafe factor: how would i know?

7. labrador park
safe factor: no more safe factors unless you park your car somewhere else, it's pretty crowded and bright over there

8. telok blangah hill
safe factor: not many ppl there at night. and scary, cos might just bump into huang na. shivers...
unsafe factor: for the same reason.

hahha, all the places we know are what others know too. so perhaps, they are not so safe afterall!
