random updates.

it's been almost 2 weeks since the last entry, not that i've been exceptionally busy. in fact, my schedule shows the exact opposite.

april has been good to me.

in a way, i was given time to enrich the lifestyle portion of a working adult and finally set my heart and kaching-ed my moolah with amore fitness. i have started my classes with them and i say all is worth it as of now. the classes are definitely tougher than the ones i used to go to when i was with singapore sports council and they really utilize the full 60min. i have more free time on hand these days and part of the credits goes to my capable pa who manages my admin and of course, part of the reason why im so free is aso due to the lack of appointments, haha. no matter, i think my free time has been put to good use except for the parts that i was obssessed with 'plants vs zombies' on ipad. im just glad that the game has been completed and i can move on without being such an addict!

and yes, the bf proposed on the 21st last week. i shall do a separate entry on this. :) with the proposal, we will be moving on to the next milestone of our lives. of cos, all the planning comes with a price and time. fortunately, we have a common understanding that the house and renovation is our top priority. as of the wedding per se, we are not in much of a hurry ie. see how la.

unfortunately, april has not been too good to me too.

my work has been stagnant  ever since mid-march and is now moving at a very slow pace. yea, slight improvement but it's just NOT enough. i have to work harder! and it also seems like the next diving trip is not going to happen in may, urghs. i need a holiday! but looking at the pathetic state of my work, i say i need to focus to bring in more monies first.

a half day trip to jb while the bf sent his car for servicing. it's my first time going to jb without my daddy as the driver. even though i have been driving for the past 8 years, i never had the courage to drive into jb and im totally not keen on the idea. but, tagging along is fun!

is horlicks malties still being sold in singapore? well, i definitely dont see them around in supermarts anymore.

the long overdue ice-kaching in JP 2 foodcourt (the one beside haagen das), it's my all time favourite dessert! and the foodcourt uses very fresh ingredients!

do you know which part of singapore is this road sign located at? st james! i was pretty surprised, it was the first time i seen it after so many years.

and they converted a big area of the carpark into an outdoor foodcourt!

the only reason why i was there in a hot and sunny afternoon was to recce a site proposed for next year d&d. all clubs look super unhappening in the day without all the flashy lights, haha.

the latest and greatest in singapore now will be the General Elections 2011. it's going to be exciting as to how many seats will the opposition manage to grab in parliament for the next 5 years. i like the line-up of the opposition contesting in aljunied grc. as to my own constituency, i have seen my mp worked hard and late. still, we never know until all the votes are counted isnt it?

though it doesnt concern me, im keen to go for WP rallies. after all, the next time to see all these will be 5 years later!

okie, i will work on my next entry soon. haha, till then!

cammy.

we brought cammy out last sat and spent our afternoon lazing away in the much talkabout 40-hands.

the view inside the public carpark; a really pretty sight of the old houses with their spiral staircases on a lazy afternoon.

instagram is not too bad too, i love this shot!

and presenting to you, forty hands!

a nice and cosy place to spend a lazy afternoon or a good hangout spot with the girlfriends and definitely, a good place to see and to be seen. their breakfast menu looks interesting enough for the bf to mention about it and breakfast are reasonably priced. so, we'll definitely visit again for the breakkie!

the coffee, as it's famous for, is really strong but a lil too bitter for my buds and we thought the iced ones is a tad too pricey; 8 bucks for a iced mocha, i think it's overrated. i believe their hot coffees are more impressive though, that was what most people around us had ordered; it's definitely a hot cuppa the next time!

BUT what interests me the most is their tau sar pau, that's a must-order for my second visit, haha.

till then, have a good weekends everyone!

friday evening in dempsey

it's not the first time the bf and i went dempsey together but definitely the first that he brought me to dempsey on a date. as unbelievable as it may sound, tonight was the second time we've been there together. as for the previous time, we were there for a gathering.

dinner was good meat at the prime society! fortunately for us, we love steaks and best, served medium rare. we ordered a glass of port, a cut of 300g of USDA rib-eye and their daily special, the blood wagyu steak! both tastes heavenly especially the wagyu! thanks to my iPhone, the pictures cannot justify the taste, NOT AT ALL! oh and not forgetting the wonderful sauces; the cafe de paris for the bf and mushroom for mine. both were good! but we love our steak as it is to savour the original taste of juice and meat, hence, the money for the sauces could have been saved!

the final bill was only a few cents short of $170, ouch! but really, the money was well-paid for the quality of food, their services and great ambience. we moved around after dinner and settled in Dome for drinks and desserts. the bf loves the coffee there! eh but he had an iced earl grey lychee instead, haha.

hot mocha for me as I really wanted the biscotti!

yummy treats!

their chocolate lava cake is really good too, though I can't say the same for the gelato ice-cream. the bf thought the ice cream could have tasted better!

do checkout their breakfast menu too, the food looks good and almost similar to the full monty set @ epicurious. next time perhaps!

i had a jolly good time tonight! :)

2pm brunch in Epicurious

while my bf and I define brunch as a meal we take at 11-ish, his friend says brunch is the first meal he wakes up. so we ended up at epicurious robertson quay only at 130pm. no reservations allowed during weekends, first come first served basis. the bf was pretty dubious at first but was happily impressed when the food came.

coffee in a cock!

the full monty set comes with a coffee/tea AND a glass of freshly squeezed juice! the food on the plate consists of 3 eggs (either sunny-side up or scramble), 3 pcs of buttered toast, bacon, sausages, grilled tomato, potatoes, baked beans and yummilicious mushrooms!
my bf says it's the mother of all breakfasts! haha, he's such a pig!

I ordered something lighter, a smoked salmon bagel. I heart bagel and epicurious serves damn good bagels, not too hard and soft in the inside. I simply love bagels!
the ambience is good; it's located just beside the river along robertson quay. there's only 2 tables indoor but I think the outdoor seats are lovelier and the air is much fresher. the crew is chirpy and service is good.

Do visit Epicurious for a hearty yet affordable breakfast. It's located at the quayside, robertson quay, just in front of studio m. :) other than the cramped and lousily-designed carpark in the quayside, all is satisfyting! we say 3.5 blingbling-corns!
